National coverage

America's semiquincentennial is still being celebrated at the Yale Art Gallery. Keeping Alive the Remembrance: Commemorating America's Founding, 1776–1876, features works from the gallery's collection that celebrated the nation's beginnings. This family quilt from the Civil War era has as its centerpiece a souvenir Declaration of Independence handkerchief from 1826. The exhibition is on display through October 18.
