Throwback Thursday: an early draft of Sterling

On the cover of our February 5, 1926, issue, we revealed James Gamble Rogers's initial design for Sterling Memorial Library, reporting that its tower would be 192 feet tall and contain 22 floors of book stacks. The tower would end up being shorter, squatter, and sparer, topping out at 150 feet with 16 floors.
