A biography of William F. Buckley Jr. ’50 by Sam Tanenhaus ’78MA was published earlier this month, a few months before what would have been the conservative icon's 100th birthday. Seventy-five years ago, in our June 1950 issue, Buckley's photo appeared in our pages in an article about college debate. A year later, Buckley accused the university of liberal and anti-Christian bias in his book God and Man at Yale. Read our assessments about Buckley from when he died in 2008, including an essay by Tanenhaus, here.
