Throwback Thursday: end of an era

Twenty years ago last month, Sterling Memorial Library's nave was emptied of its last freestanding card-catalog cabinets, as we reported in our September/October 2006 issue. The built-in cabinets on the south side of the nave are still there, sans cards—but if you open a drawer, you're likely to find a note left by a student or a visitor.  |
