Besides the 4,000 or so works of art on display at the Yale University Art Gallery, the buildings themselves reward a closer look. This stairwell is part of Egerton Swartwout’s 1928 Old Art Gallery.

The comment period has expired.This stairway has a lovely railing, nicely framed here, with new components integrated with the original rail, that is a work of art itself.
