Mystery Monday: a scholar’s life

The architects and stone carvers who worked on Yale’s interwar Gothic buildings had a puckish sense of humor. Where on campus can you find this impious depiction of a student at work? We’ll update this post with the answer tomorrow. UPDATE: The sculpture is one of 12 corbels depicting students and readers in the corridor of Sterling Memorial Library leading from the Wall Street entrance to the nave. ___________________________________________ The Yale Alumni Magazine is published by Yale Alumni Publications Inc., an alumni-based nonprofit that is not run by Yale University.
