Art in space

In 2010, Swiss artist Felice Varini painted this 110-foot-tall illusion—titled Square With Four Circles—in an alley off Chapel Street near the New Haven Green, using the buildings on either side of the alley and the ramp of the Crown Street Garage as a canvas. It was intended to be on view for a year, but it’s still boggling minds downtown nine years later.
