In Remembrance: Edward Root Bulkeley ’44 Died on September 3 2013

Edward Root Bulkeley, 92, passed away on September 3, 2013 in Great Barrington, Mass. After the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor in 1941, Bulkeley enlisted in the Air Force and was commissioned as an officer, eventually piloting his bomber during the D-Day invasion of Normandy and flying 72 missions over Europe. After he returned to the United States and graduated from Yale in 1947, Bulkeley went on to serve as director and vice president of Hart Manufacturing Company in Hartford.
