A journalist, he worked for several newspapers before joining the Associated Press in 1961, where he remained until his retirement in 1994. He led news operations in a number of outlets around the world, reporting on wars, revolutions, coups, the Olympics, and more. Torchia's son Chris posted a tribute to his dad on his Substack page. |
