In Remembrance: Stuart Symington Jr. ’50 Died on July 16 2025

Stuart Symington Jr. passed away on July 16, 2025, at age 100. Also known as “Tim,” he was a generous and devoted family man, captivating raconteur, tireless civic leader, and champion of all things Eli.

Predeceased by his daughter Anne Wadsworth, Tim is survived by his wife of 76 years, Janey Studt; sons W. Stuart, Sidney Studt ’78, ’04MDiv, and John Sante ’82 (spouse Margaret McFarland ’82); ten grandchildren, including Janey Symington ’07 and Stuart Symington ’09; nine great-grandchildren; and his brother James Wadsworth (also ’50). A funeral service was held at the National Cathderal in Washington, DC, on Saturday, December 20, 2025; interment will be at Arlington at a later date.
