In Remembrance: George R. Berman ’56, ’61MEng Died on June 15 2025

We regret to share news of the passing of George Berman (TD), class of 1956. A graduate of Horace Mann, Yale (BA, MEng), and Columbia (MBA), George served as an officer in the US Navy before embarking on a business career in New York and retiring to Boca Raton, Florida. He was highly active in civic life, desegregating his community in the 1960s, scout mastering in the 1970s, founding a synagogue in the 1980s, and creating the first website for both the Loxahatchee Wildlife Refuge and his Yale class.
George is survived by his wife Rochel, sons Joshua and Jonathan ’89 (ES), their wives Michal and Monica ’95JD, five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. The family can be contacted at rochelberman@bellsouth.net.
