He was a friend of mine. We were both huge fans of the controversial Living Theatre residency at Yale freshman year, but Tom actually ran off and joined the circus. At reunions he would tell me stories of their work in Europe and the Middle East, and ultimately his work cataloging their papers for the Yale libraries.
