In Remembrance: Thomas Selmar Cassimer ’53PhD Died on June 11 2017

Thomas Selmar Cassimer, professor emeritus at the University of Massachusetts and an expert in francophone literature and culture, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2017, at age 94, in Pullman, Washington. Born in Rome, Italy, in 1923, as a boy Cassimer fled the Nazis and was sent to an internment camp in Quebec, Canada. He received his Yale PhD in French with a minor in Italian, in 1953.
