Yale’s deal with Under Armour.

“The number of young people around the world who aspire to attend Yale University is mind-boggling. That aspirational positioning made the deal worth it.”

—Ryan Kuehl, vice president of the sports apparel company Under Armour, in a January 12 Bloomberg Business article. “The deal” is Under Armour’s agreement to pay Yale a reported $16.5 million over the next ten years for the right to outfit Bulldog athletic teams—the kind of money that usually goes to big-time sports schools.
