An AI tool to support cardiovascular health education

S. Raquel Ramos, YSN associate professor, is leading the development of CARDIO, a large-language model designed to deliver evidence-based cardiovascular health education to patients in clinical settings. Fine-tuned using clinical guidelines and curated educational materials, the tool helps reinforce clinician guidance and improve patient understanding of cardiovascular risk factors and prevention strategies. Ramos and a multidisciplinary team from across Yale University are preparing to launch a pilot study in which patients will interact with CARDIO following routine clinical visits.

Fostering global dialogue

The Office of Planetary Health & Global Engagement welcomed students from the University of Tokyo and Taipei Medical University to Yale School of Nursing during the last week of February for a week of academic exchange centered on planetary health, well-being, and the arts. Visiting students joined YSN students in lectures, discussions, and workshops exploring global health partnerships, humanitarian health, multinational research collaboration, and the intersections of planetary health and the arts. The program fostered interdisciplinary dialogue and strengthened international collaboration across Yale.
