The colors of summer

What blooms in the campus's quietest season.

Many alumni passed through Yale without ever seeing the campus in the summer, but those of us who work here know all the pluses and minuses of summer in New Haven—some relative peace and quiet on one hand, some stifling heat and humidity on the other.

One of the things we appreciate most is the wealth of summer blossoms that brighten the scene. In this issue is one of the most beautiful examples—the Marsh Botanical Gardens. But you can find striking flora all over the campus, as seen in these photos. We picked them fresh from among the shots we post every weekday on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and our Daily Snap blog. Enjoy!
