The magazine is supported principally by subscriptions and advertising. It is editorially independent and does not necessarily reflect the views of Yale University or its officers.
Stories published by the Yale Alumni Magazine in the past several years have been covered on the front page of the Wall Street Journal and the front page and opinion pages of the New York Times. The magazine has published new work by Tom Wolfe, Tom Perrotta, Dahlia Lithwick, and Sam Tanenhaus, among many others. An essay by National Book Award winner Andrew Solomon won a 2011 gold Eddie award from Folio: magazine.
The Yale Alumni Magazine is published for the Yale community: alumni, administration, faculty, students, parents, and members of the public interested in the people and pursuits of Yale University. Because the university takes as its field of study virtually every important subject in the arts, humanities, sciences, business, and government, its graduates represent a uniquely well-informed and influential group; many occupy positions at the highest levels of corporate and political leadership in this country and abroad.
