With several hundred cadets marching onto the field—and four paratroopers making an even more dramatic entrance—Army won the pregame festivities at the Yale Bowl on September 27. But to the surprise of many, the Bulldogs prevailed when it came to football, topping the Black Knights in overtime 49–43. Tyler Varga ’15 had the winning touchdown run, his fifth of the day. The game was the first between the two teams since 1996, and the Bulldogs’ first win over Army since 1955. A crowd of 34,142 was on hand for a game that was part of the season-long Yale Bowl centennial celebration.
