In Remembrance: Frank P. Louchheim ’45E Died on October 6 2014

Frank P. Louchheim, an extraordinary father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and founder of Right Management Consultants (Philadelphia), died peacefully on Sunday, October 6, 2014, at the age of 91. He brought a positive energy and light, and boundless humor and love to everyone he touched.

Frank was predeceased by his wife, Betty J. Meinel Louchheim, and by his sisters, Ann Louchheim Wallace and Marie Louise Louchheim. He is survived by his children, Stuart M. Louchheim, John P. Louchheim, and Anna Louchheim West; their spouses, Deborah, Susan, and Edward; eight grandchildren and their spouses; and 13 great-grandchildren, all of whom shared in Frank and Betty's love of family travel. He is also survived by his stepbrother, Daniel Dannenbaum, and his stepsister, Alexa Hirsch, as well as by loving in-laws, nephews, and nieces.

During World War II Frank served in the Pacific in the Navy. In 1980 he founded Right Management Consultants, a human resource consulting and outplacement services firm, which was later named "Company of the Year" by Philadelphia magazine. He served as Right's chairman and CEO, taking the company public on the New York Stock Exchange in 1986, and growing it into a global services company with over 300 offices across 50 countries.

Frank was also a tireless philanthropist in Philadelphia. He worked actively for more than three decades as a board member and trustee of the Fleisher Art Memorial, the country's oldest tuition-free art school. He was also a longstanding contributor to the Academy of Music, where his father, Stuart F. Louchheim, served as president and led the restoration of the academy, the "Grand Old Lady of Locust Street," then home to the Philadelphia Orchestra. And Frank found time on countless Sundays to counsel area prisoners.

All the people he touched recall his great spirit, positive outlook, high intelligence, deep sensitivities, his care for all people, and his wonderful sense of humor.

A celebration of life service will be held for Frank on Saturday, December 6, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at the Samuel S. Fleisher Art Memorial, 719 Catharine Street, Philadelphia, PA 19147. Those wishing to make a donation in honor of Frank are asked to contribute to the Fleisher Art Memorial.
