Sure,
the Whiffenpoofs have been around for a hundred years, but have they ever
gotten a million hits on YouTube? Internet a cappella sensation Sam Tsui '11
has. In a video that went viral after it got mentions from blogger Perez Hilton
and others this summer, Tsui and five clones sing a Michael Jackson medley on
the stage of the Sudler Lecture Hall. Tsui, who also sings with the Duke’s Men,
performs all the vocal parts, which were arranged and produced by his high
school friend Kurt Schneider '10. The two have since appeared on the Bonnie
Hunt Show and have
made more videos, and Schneider has been flooded with requests for his
arrangements from show choirs. Not bad for a classics major (Tsui) and a math
major (Schneider). |
