The roof of the Becton Center, across from the Grove Street Cemetery, is a pretty good place to catch a breeze—and an ideal spot on campus for ten new micro-windmills that help generate electricity for Becton. Requiring a wind of just 7 miles per hour, the turbines are expected to produce 26 megawatt-hours of power per year. Paid for in part by a gift from Matthew Barger '79, the turbines were dedicated during reunions this spring. |
