Yale Homebuyer Program

This map shows the entire
city of New Haven. (The areas in blue are, from right to left, the Yale central
campus, the athletic fields, and the golf course and nature preserve.) The red
dots indicate houses that have been bought by Yale employees under the Yale
Homebuyer Program, which since 1994 has offered cash subsidies of up to $25,000
for employee homebuyers. The program originally included the entire city, but
later phases have excluded the areas with the highest property values. More
than 900 employees have taken advantage of the plan.
