A Century on a Spree: The Whiffenpoofs Centennial

The legendary Whiffenpoofs, founded in 1909, kick off
their centennial year with a "once-a-century" event: a concert in Woolsey Hall
that mixes the traditional harmonies of the 14-member ensemble with comedic
input from celebrity hosts John Hodgman '94 (The Daily Show’s "Resident Expert" and "PC" from
the Mac commercials) and Jonathan Coulton '94. For tickets, see the group's

Tea Culture of Japan: Chanoyu Past and Present

A display of nearly 100 objects dating from the ninth
century to the present day—including ceramic tea bowls, bamboo tea scoops, iron
kettles, and maki-e lacquer incense containers—illuminates the significance of
Japanese tea culture and how it has evolved over the centuries.
