It’s
a Yale tradition almost as hallowed as singing "Bright College Years":
jaywalking across Elm Street between York and College. But in September, the
Yale Police raised students' hackles by issuing citations—albeit without
fines—to anyone who crossed outside the crosswalk. A few days later,
spray-painted crosswalks mysteriously appeared in the middle of Elm Street and
in other frequent jaywalking spots on campus (like High Street, pictured here).
