The Lizzie's Lizzie For decades, denizens of Yale's Elizabethan Club have poured their tea beneath the imperious gaze of the club's namesake, Queen Elizabeth I. The portrait, which was painted in about 1585, belonged to club founder Alexander Smith Cochran, Class of 1896. He included it in his original gift to the club in 1911.
