Yale Fence, 1833-1888
Of all the preservation battles at Yale, perhaps none was more emotional than that over the Fence at Chapel and College, where generations of Yale men had held court. A two-rail version now lines the inside of the Old Campus, but a 19th-century Eli would surely sigh that it's not the same.
