Sheffield Hall, 1814-1931
Built as a Federal-style hotel in 1814, this building was instead occupied by the Medical School until 1860. It was then renovated in the fashionable Italianate style by Joseph E. Sheffield and given for the use of what would become the Sheffield Scientific School. It was torn down to make way for the taller tower of Sterling-Sheffield-Strathcona in 1931.
