Original Yale

Original Yale College building, 1718-1782
Yale's first building in New Haven, at the corner of College and Chapel where Bingham Hall now stands, was sided with clapboard and housed student rooms, a hall for classes, and a library. After Connecticut Hall and other later buildings were built, the wooden structure slowly deteriorated before students took on its demolition as an extracurricular activity.
