You’ll rarely find all three of them on the same side of a Supreme Court decision, but you could find Samuel Alito ’75JD, Sonia Sotomayor ’78JD, and Clarence Thomas ’74JD on the same stage in Woolsey Hall on October 25. On campus to receive the Yale Law School Association’s Award of Merit during the school’s alumni weekend, the three cordially swapped stories about their lives on and off the court, with Thomas describing his motor-home trips with his wife around the country, Alito recalling his travails in moot court as a law student, and Sotomayor confessing her lack of rhythm even after taking salsa lessons.
