Dan Mellish ’95 and his son Theodore may have taken a moment for fun, but a lot of work got done at the Thorne Nature Experience in Boulder, Colorado, on May 10—the sixth annual global Yale Day of Service. Weeds were plucked, trails were repaired, and center founder Oakleigh Thorne ’51, ’53MS, showed kids how to band a yellow-headed blackbird. The event, sponsored by the Colorado Yale Association, was at just one of 251 sites around the world where more than 4,000 alumni, friends, and family volunteered.
